Choose the results before downloading
Run a business search and wait for it to finish. Review the keyword, region, and search status so you know what the file represents. A stopped or partial search should not be mistaken for a complete view of the area.
Apply the filters you need before exporting. After download, compare the file with the current search and active filters. If you change filters or run another search, create a new export rather than assuming an older spreadsheet has updated.
Download and inspect the Excel file
- Open the results table for the search you want to work with.
- Review the available names, addresses, contact details, ratings, and source links.
- Select Download Excel and open the file in a spreadsheet application.
- Check the headers, row count, and several sample records against the workspace.
- Give the file a meaningful name, such as bicycle-shops-city-2026-10-26.xlsx.
Add context instead of only collecting numbers
Use your working copy to track information you have actually checked. Keep source fields separate from your own notes so another team member can tell which values came from a listing and which came from follow-up.
| Working column | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Review date | Shows when you checked the information. |
| Business fit | Explains why the company belongs in your prospect list. |
| Permission status | Records whether the contact agreed to receive messages. |
| Next action | Makes a follow-up specific and accountable. |
Know what a downloaded list does not prove
An Excel file is a snapshot. It does not stay synchronized with later changes in public listings, and missing fields may remain empty. Confirm important details before using them for a business decision.
Downloading a contact does not create messaging permission. Keep exported files accessible only to the people who need them and use the information consistently with source terms and the agreements that apply to your work.
Questions before you start
Does “Google Maps download” mean downloading the Maps app?
This guide covers downloading business search results from SSDATA into Excel. It does not cover installing Google Maps or downloading offline navigation maps.
Will the Excel file update automatically?
No. It is a separate snapshot. Run a fresh search or export again when you need a newer working copy.
